Stay at Home and Read a Book BallWe invite you to our annual fundraiser, the Stay at Home and Read a Book Ball. We asked our “guests of honour”, VPL’s Writer in Residence and three VPL librarians, what books they are going to stay home and read. Curl up with one of these four books by Canadian authors or one of your own favorites and join us at the Ball!

Thanks to your support in 2015, Friends of the VPL was able to fund all the projects VPL requested, a total of $47,000 with an additional $20,000 for enhancements to library space. As Chief Librarian Sandra Singh notes “The financial support provided by the Friends over the past years has enabled us to enhance our public spaces that we could not otherwise purchase and supported countless programs including our Writer-in-Residence and Writing and Book Camp.” Some of the projects funded this year were new outdoor seating at the Kitsilano Branch, digital literacy workshops at the Carnegie branch, and programming for seniors in the Southwest branches.

Your donation will help ensure we can fulfill all of VPL’s requests again this year. Will you join us at the Stay at Home and Read a Book Ball?

Sincerely,

Judith Neamtan
